Club Rules and EtiquetteFull details of the club rules, updated September 2010, can be found here. Below is a summary of the key points for members and visitors. Staff have been instructed not to serve, or issue a green fee ticket, to any person whose dress or demeanour contravenes this code and non-compliance by a member or a member’s guest may result in disciplinary action by the Committee. On The Course• To enable everyone to enjoy their game and help maintain the golf course in the best possible condition, we rely on members, guests and visitors to observe golfing etiquette on the course and to repair pitch marks, replace divots and rake bunkers. • It is important to avoid slow play and to keep up with the game in front, not just ahead of the game behind. Faster players should always be called through and precedence must be given to golfers playing official competitions of Club matches from the competition (white) tees. Golfers may only play one golf ball and, unless playing in an official competition or Club match, men may play only from the yellow tees, Women play from the red tees at all times. • Be ready to play your shot as soon as it is your turn and do not leave golf bags or trolleys in front of the green. Be aware of players behind you, leave the green immediately you have putted out and don't mark your card until you reach the next tee, and then only after you have played your tee shot. • Do not take trolleys onto any tee or green or in between greens and bunkers and never carry a golf bag across any putting surface. Be aware of crossovers on the course and call "fore" if you are in any doubt as to the direction or strength of your shot. Behaviour and ClothingMembers, their guests, visitors and green fee players are expected to wear clean, smart and appropriate clothing and to conduct themselves in a respectable manner at all times and to comply with the spirit, as well as the letter, of this code which shall apply to all parts of Hillingdon Golf Club. Mobile phonesMobile phones may be used discreetly within the confines of the lobby, car park or changing rooms. They should be set to silent or vibrate mode when in the the clubhouse. They should not be used to make or receive calls on any part of the course except in an emergency. Restrictions On Playing Times• On Thursdays the first tee is reserved for the Ladies Section from 12 noon until 1.00 p.m. Gentlemen members, visitors, guests and green fee players may not commence play on the 1st or 10th tees after 11.45 a.m. • Tees are reserved until 12.30 p.m. on Sundays for male members. • Tee reservations for special competitions, club matches, or Societies are from the 1st and 10th tees. Matches already on the course must give way at the designated starting holes. • Juniors and Intermediates may commence play on Saturdays from 2.30 pm and on Sundays from 12.30 pm. Children And Young Persons• Unless they are members in their own right, children/young persons of 17 years and under may not enter any part of the golf club unless accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for their supervision and control at all times. • Children/young persons of 8 years and over are expected to observe the same code of dress and conduct as adults, and children of any age shall not, under any circumstances, be allowed unaccompanied on any part of the golf course. • At certain times, or during various functions, the presence
of children/young persons may be considered inappropriate and they may
be required to leave at the request the General Manager, Captain or
a Committee member.
