The Wednesday Morning Swindle
started in 1995 with 3 to 4 players who had recently retired.
As more club members retired the numbers increased to around 8
or 9 within the year.
More members retired and joined in. Within the last 3 years our
numbers have gone up to 20+. We even had a lady member occasionally
joining us. That raised "eyebrows". Some of the "working
class" on their day off also came along. During this summer
(2009) it has not been unusual to have 14-16 on the tee throwing
their balls up, to see who plays with who.
